Jerry's funeral was today, led by Pastor Jim from The River Church. Pastor Jim shared many touching 'stories' in honor of his friend Jerry. He shared with us how much he disliked funerals and especially coffins. He prefferred to think of coffins as 'Hope Chests". HOPE (H=Heaven, O=Others,P=Peace, and E=Eternity). He let us know that he knew Jerry was in Heaven and that we are the others Jerry cared so much about. He shared that we all leave handprints in each others lives. Pastor Jim uplifted our sadness by reminding us some people live and pass with hope and some do not. He said Jerry DeSantis passed with Hope. If we can turn our sorrow into hope, then we have honored Jerry.
